Technology presents many opportunities for ASEAN countries to grow, especially through digitalization has made processes easier than before. Yet, it poses challenges such as people and businesses lagging behind the digital push. In light of these, we naturally become curious: why is digitalization relevant to us? What are new technological trends which we could benefit from? And how could we create solutions to overcome digitalisation barriers?

Panel Discussion

Malminderjit Singh (Moderator)

Malminder is Senior Account Director and Regional Content Lead at global communications and public affairs consultancy Hume Brophy where he advises clients in Tech, government, financial services and fintech on strategic communications, media relations, issues management, thought leadership, government relations and public policy.

Seah Gek Choo (Speaker)

Gek Choo is Talent Leader for Deloitte Southeast Asia. She leads Deloitte Southeast Asia’s Boardroom Program, which advances thinking and promotes dialogue on current and emerging corporate governance issues, and serves as the leader for Deloitte Southeast Asia’s SheXO Program, which supports the personal and professional development of established, emerging, or aspiring women leaders. Gek Choo also brings with her more than 25 years of experience in public accounting in Singapore, with a focus on serving multinational and local companies in the real estate and hospitality industries.

Alvin Tan (Speaker)

Mr Alvin Tan was appointed Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth and Trade and Industry on 1 September 2020. He was first elected as a Member of Parliament in July 2020. Before joining the government as Minister of State, Mr Tan worked in the private, public and non-profit sectors in organisations such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Goldman Sachs, the United Nations and Oxfam.
